Hint: In order to use the WooCommerce Plug-In, you will need your own Newsletter2go Account. If you don’t yet have one, you can register for a free account here: Register for Free.
1 Setting API Access
In order to be able to use the Shop API, the API for the entire Shop needs to be activated. This includes approved users who will have access to the Shop. The WordPress Permalink Setting also needs to be changed.
1.1 Change the Permalink Setting
In order to change the Permalink Setting, go to WordPress Settings/Permalinks and choose a Setting other than the Default.
Confirm the change.
1.2 Activating the Plug-In
In order to activate your shop’s Plug-In, open the tab “API” on the WooCommerce Settings Page in your shop.
Check the box “REST-API Activate” and click on “Save Changes.”
Access to the Plug-In is controlled by application-specific Log-in Keys.
In order to create a Log-in Key for Newsletter2Go, open the API Tab on the WooCommerce Settings page in your shop and choose the “Keys/Apps” option.
Click on the button “Add Key”.
First choose a preferred description for the new Log-in Key, e.g. “Newsletter2Go.”
Next, choose a user to whom the Key will be assigned, e.g. your own users.
Set the authorization for this Key to “Read/Write,” in order to enable the two-way data exchange. Then click “Create API-Key”.
As confirmation, you will be shown a Consumer Key and a Consumer Secret.
Please save both of those in a text-file on your computer.
2. Setting Up the Plug-In at Newsletter2Go
In order to set up the WooCommerce integration, log into your Newsletter2Go acccount and go to “Settings” – “Plug-Ins” – and click on “Set Up New Connection.”
Under Web Shop Connections, choose “WooCommerce.”
Enter the required data in the text fields. This includes your Key, password, and your URL. In order to test whether the integration works, press on the button “Test Integration.”
You can also choose here whether the recipients should be automatically synchronised every 24 hours. The set-up will be complete when you click on the “Complete Setup” button.
