Is it possible to see and edit the source code or source text of a newsletter?

You can only see and edit the source text if you are using your own template that you uploaded as HTML to the editor. Click on the ‘Newsletter’ tab under step 3 ‘Editor’ and then on ‘Edit source text’ to change it manually.

If you are using a template by Newsletter2Go this is not possible.
